Usage guide for tutors​

Dear Tutor,
We are glad you’ve joined BBenny study. We’re here to help our students to improve their skills. So, let’s enjoy teaching together!

Below are some tips on how to navigate the site and how to use some of the features:

- After the approval, the Admin will provide the access to you. Login using the same username, email and password you used during your registration.
After logging in, you will be taken to the tutor's Personal Account. Click on the green button with the bell (see the picture below) to learn about the Dos and Don’ts and the lesson cancellation policy. You can learn more about the rules by going to the Tutors Terms and Conditions page.

- By clicking on the Edit account, you can set up your profile. Specify detailed information about yourself, tell your future students about your experience, background, achievements, so that potential students can see it. Please indicate which languages you speak and add information about your interests. Upload your Avatar (max size is 5 mb).

- Click on My Password, to change your password. If you have problems with the password, write to Admin and he will help you.

- In the My Lessons tab, choose video platforms for your lessons (Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams). If you are going to teach Chinese students, we recommend that you download Voov Tencent (this platform can be linked to any phone number), since most Chinese students cannot use Zoom and Google Meet.
You should also upload the introduction video. Choose either a video file from your computer (50 MB Max) or attach a link to your introduction video on the YouTube. You should be clearly visible and audible in the video, this will help students make a choice in your favor.

- Use My Messages tab to communicate with your students. It is important that as soon as you receive a lesson request from a student and find out student's name, do not hesitate to write to him/ her.  Greet your student and ask clarifying questions, if any.  You can also use "My messages" to send homework or other teaching materials.
If your files are too heavy and you can't send them, write to the AdminRUS and he'll help you. Please note that the exchange of personal contacts with students is prohibited and is only possible with the approval of the BBenny study.

- Use the My Schedule tab to manage your schedule. Set up working days and weekends so that your future students know about your availability. The Calendar Time zone will be automatically linked to the Time Zone set on your computer.  Note that students can book lessons no earlier than 12 hours before the start.

- You can use My Schedule tab to create your own lessons. Choose “Services” – Add Service and describe your lesson, specify the age and level of your students, and set the price). You can create several types of lessons - i.e. for children and teenagers, for adults, Business, grammar, pronunciation, conversational practice, etc

- Use the Payment tab to create a payment request and track all your payments. We use Wise, Alipay and СБП to transfer tutor's money. Your request will be generated only if you have at least $100 in your account, as BBenny study covers a transfer fee.

Dos and Don'ts for tutors​

In order to avoid misunderstandings with students or parents, we have created a basic list of things and behaviors that we would like all our tutors to take into account during lessons:

1. Camera: The camera must be turned on during the lesson. Make sure your face is visible, illuminated and in the frame. It is forbidden to record a lesson without the student's permission.

2. Clothing and appearance: Please wear suitable clean clothes (no overly bright/ colorful/ festive clothes, dressing gowns, pajamas and naked torso).

3. Lesson conditions: Your background should be neutral and neat. If your background is very distracting, we recommend using a virtual background. Please also make sure that there is no loud noise, other people talking in the background, or constantly passing by you. It is not allowed to attend lessons in public places (for example, in a cafe, gym, library, transport or on the street, etc.).

4. Food and drinks: Do not eat during the lesson. Do not smoke during the lesson. Do not drink alcohol immediately before or during the lesson. Drinking water from a mug or glass is allowed.

5. Outsiders in class: Do not invite other people to participate in your lessons. Do not ask tutors about other lessons or students, as this may confuse them.

6. It is forbidden to have lessons with students outside BBenny study.

7. Tutors cannot share any personal data with students, such as phone number, whatsapp, etc.

At BBenny study, we want students and tutors of a wide variety of nationalities, genders, abilities and disabilities to feel comfortable during lessons.

BBenny study Lesson cancellation policy:​

- Before request is confirmed cancellation possible at any time without charge.
- More than 3 hours before lesson start time. Cancellation is possible at any time.
- Less than 3 hours before lesson start time. The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
- No-Show. The tutor may take a cancellation fee.

Student No-Show: If your student doesn't join the lesson at the confirmed lesson time - don't panic! First of all, send a kind reminder to your student using My Messages. If your student still isn't reacting to your efforts to reach them via My Messages, sent a message to BBenny study Support staff and wait for 15 minutes. If the student isn't showing up, report No-Show to BBenny study support staff (specify Lesson ID, Student's name and date). Then quit the lesson.

NOTE: This is the general Lesson cancellation policy, however, some tutors may choose to apply a cancellation fee if a student cancels a lesson less than 3 hours before lesson start time or in case of No-show.

A Tutor No-show is defined as any incidence where you fail to start the lesson on time without prior notice, and the lesson is consequently cancelled by the student or BBenny study staff. If a No-Show has happened you should take every measure to make amends for the incident (contacting the students, issuing discount etc).
3 No-Shows may lead to the termination of your tutor profile.

Правила поведения для учеников​

Во избежание недопонимания с репетиторами мы создали базовый перечень правил поведения, которые мы хотели бы, чтобы все наши ученики принимали во внимание во время занятий:

Камера: должна быть включена во время занятия. Убедитесь, что ваше лицо видно, освещено и находится в кадре. Запрещается записывать занятие без разрешения репетитора.

Одежда и внешний вид: Пожалуйста, одевайте подходящую одежду (не одевайте  слишком яркую/ пеструю/ праздничную одежду, халаты, пижаму и, пожалуйста, без голого торса).

Условия проведения занятия: ваш фон должен быть нейтральным и аккуратным. Если ваш фон очень отвлекает, мы рекомендуем использовать виртуальный фон. Пожалуйста, убедитесь, что нет громкого шума, других людей, говорящих на заднем плане, либо постоянно проходящих мимо вас. Не разрешается посещать занятия, находясь в общественных местах (например, в кафе, библиотеке, транспорте или на улице).

Еда и напитки: Не ешьте во время занятия.  Не курите во время занятия. Не употребляйте алкоголь непосредственно перед или во время занятия. Допустимо пить воду из кружки или стакана.

Посторонние на занятии: Не приглашайте других людей для участия в ваших занятиях. Не спрашивайте репетиторов о других занятиях или учениках, так как это может смутить их.

Мы в BBenny study хотим, чтобы ученики самых разных национальностей, пола, способностей и ограниченных возможностей чувствовали себя комфортно во время занятий. 

Политика отмены занятий ВBenny study​:

- До подтверждения запроса репетитором ученик в праве отменить занятие в любое время без взимания платы.
- Более чем за 3 часа до начала занятия. Отмена возможна в любое время.
- Менее чем за 3 часа до начала занятия. Репетитор в праве взимать плату за отмену.
- В случае неявки ученика репетитор может взимать плату. 

ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ: Некоторые репетиторы могут взимать плату за отмену, если ученик отменяет занятие менее чем за 3 часа до его начала или в случае неявки.
Репетиторы готовятся к занятиям заранее, поэтому они имеют право получать оплату за пропущенные занятия, если ученики пропускают их без предварительного уведомления.

How BBenny Study works

All lessons at BBenny study are conducted online. You can join using a computer, smartphone, or tablet connected to the internet.

1. Find the perfect tutor

To start using BBenny study you’ll need to register an account. It’s free! When you’re ready you can start by searching for tutors and lessons that might interest you

2. Schedule your lesson​​

Once you find a lesson you’d like to take, send a “Book Lesson” request. You can choose any time slot the tutor has made available. Times are displayed in your local time zone. After selecting the date, make the payment using Alipay, bank cards or Wise. 

3. Start the journey!​

Wait until your request is confirmed (you’ll receive the e-mail). When the lesson is confirmed, on the day of the lesson, start your lesson using Zoom, Voov, MS Teams (Skype).

Tutor’s Qualification

We are looking for tutors who possess the following qualifications:
– Fluent in English, Spanish, Chinese, German, Latvian, Russian or Estonian (depending on the language you are going to teach),
– Hold a teaching certification (such as TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, HSK or equivalent),
– Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher
– Have prior teaching or tutoring experience in English, Spanish, Chinese, German, Latvian, Russian or Estonian (depending on the language you are going to teach), Maths and Physics.
